I have chosen my coaching team carefully and I most of them have been with me for many years.

I mentor the younger ones and help them through their qualifications, but I also learn from them too.

In general my coaches are studying along side their coaching, and I try to schedule around University exam time; they are a bright bunch studying everything from Sports Science, International Politics, Maths and Acting.

Oliver and Marcus have played in my Barnet Tennis Team for several years and are part of the successful LYG team. When they became coaches, I grabbed them for my team, they are also on the ASSE scheme at Batchwood.

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence is a programme that allows players to fulfil their tennis potential whilst still in education.

I would never single out any of my coaches as they are all brilliant, however, we are very lucky to have the Gan boys on the team!

No-one ever ends a lesson on a bad shot!

I have also been trained by the LTA in Coaching People with Disabilities (including learning disabilities, deaf tennis and wheelchair tennis) and work with teenagers with both physical and mental problems

I coach adults and team squads and I have managed the Barnet Youth Tennis Team for 4 years who I take to the London Youth Games (LYG) every summer. In July 2011 the team won silver at Crystal Palace, this was our first year reaching the finals, so our hard work really paid off in the end!

Each year I offer 12 scholarships to my Mini-Aces programme which is a heavily subsidized coaching programme set up to create the next generation of performance tennis players for Britain.

My philosophy with the children is ‘the harder you work, the luckier you get!’ I am patient and I care that the children always leave their lesson with a positive feeling.

About Us

I am the Head Coach at The Avenue Lawn Tennis Club, and I'm a Licensed LTA Club Coach.

My passion lies within mini-tennis and in particular ‘performance under 10s’, I have a link  with the High Performance Centre in St Albans called Batchwood Tennis Academy.

I am very interested in finding the tennis stars of the future so every January, I visit all the local schools seeking talented children who are athletic and well coordinated.
